OFFICIALLY MOVED IN!!!

Yay, we are in our house. The boxes are not all unpacked but we are sleeping and eating in this cute house. We pretty much moved from the West side of the lake to the east side of the lake. The fun things about this house are: The basement is already finished, there is a park, baseball diamond, millpond spa and of course the lake all right behind our house. We didn't have to pay for a fence, (we have one already), it cuts 7 minutes off of our drive time to Salt Lake, the maverick gas station is within walking distance in case anyone needs a big pink sugar cookie or cherry pepsi, the church/stake center is 6 houses away, Lincolns bus stop is 6 houses away, Benson Griss Mill is within walking distance. there are trees and birds, we have met about 1/3 of our ward already and they all seem really nice. That is just a few things that I can think of right now. I think it will be a fun place to live. I do miss my neighbors believe it or not and the kids really miss their friends. Lincoln tried to have a party all on his own today to get some boys over to play. We did get one and that is better than none. Brinley has had Doug and I playing dolls with her doll house anytime that she catches us finishing a project. SHE NEEDS FRIENDS!!! We will work on this. I can't wait to change the colors of my blog and add more pictures and things like that but I do need to get the house in order first. A big thanks to everyone who has helped us out and have continued on with true friendships. We appreciate it and have not felt lost or alone at all.

Well back to work, although, I may have to change my blog design, it is making me crazy not to have change.

UUUGH!!!

Our house sold. I should be happy about it but we haven't even been looking for another house so as of right now, there is nowhere for us to go. We have 3 weeks to a month to get out. This is really quick.

Latest Project

My dad is a very big Ute fan so I made him a very large U for Christmas. I have three pictures that show it in the light and dark. This is the first and last letter I will ever make. It was a little more work than I thought it would be.

I got all the lights put on and plugged it in. It looked great and then Paige (my neighbor friend)said, why is there smoke coming out of the top lights? Small electrical problem. With the new set of lights now on and having tested it for an hour, I think he will be happy to show he is a big fan at football season.

Creative People

I had to put these Christmas treats on because they are so cute. They are from Teresa, Doug's niece. It looks like she used a chocolate covered cherry as the rear end and tail, a kiss for the head, peanuts for the ears and frosting for the eyes and nose. Too CUTE! You gotta love the gift wrapped fudge as well. THANKS TERESA!!!

Also, We don't have a clue who, but if anyone that is reading this has been leaving special notes at our door, thank you, thank you. You are very kind and we appreciate our treasures!

Christmas Presents

Ok, it happened like this. I decided about 4 days ago that I should make something for Doug's family for Christmas. They don't draw names for Christmas so we have never done anything for any of them. Well, 6 snowmen later, we have their gifts. My thumbs are numb, my back aches, my eyes are blurry and my kids are wondering where mom is. I thought they were kind of cute. I hope they feel the same.

Christmas Traditions at our families house

These are a few things that we did for Christmas that are a big memory for me.
1. Christmas breakfast. I loved growing up with the big breakfast and we still get together for it with the whole family.
2. Moms christmas tree. I think that there are over 1000 ornaments on it and it is sometimes a pain to put up because each year there are more ornaments added but in the end it looks really cute.
3. Presents from mom and dad to the grandchildren. They love to buy Sunday clothes for the kids and they are always wonderful. Whatever grandma and Grandpa pick out will be wonderful whether it is Sunday clothes or not because they are very choosy for each child.
4. Christmas music. We don't have that so much anymore but I remember the great big 6album Christmas record sets that we got from Readers Digest and we would listen to the music all day on the great big stereo in the living room.
5. Christmas lights at temple square. We went up every year to see the lights. Cold and beautiful.
6. Christmas eve drive. Every Christmas eve driving to all the christmas lanes to see the decorated houses and read the stories. That was so fun and Doug and I keep saying that it would be so fun to get one going out here in Stansbury.
7. Crystal. The beautiful crystal pieces that mom gets every year. I love them.
8. Dads green chile and tortillas and we can't forget the tamales. This is traditional and I have been practicing up on making it a tradition in our home because it is so special to me. I love the smell when you walk in the door to mom and dads, you know it's a special day.
9. The little Christmas village on the big stereo. I could sit there all day staring into those houses. The cotton sparkly snow and the little plastic trees. I loved them and was really sad when they were no longer able to be a part of Christmas.
10. I have to add the nativity. I played with that thing daily. I loved how all the figurines had olive colored skin, I feel that made them more real to what the nativity was like. I remember moving them around all the time and the next day they would be back where they were supposed to be. I have a very small, cheap nativity and everyday, Brinley puts them lined up from tall to small and every evening I put them back in the correct places. What a tradition.
Just a few things but all very important to me.

Polar Express

My goodness what a fun day we have had. Aside from Utahs major win against BYU, my cool husband won tickets to the Polar Express from FM100. Our family has been counting down the days, hours and minutes for this exciting evening.
We had so much fun and I would definitely recommend everyone to save your money and go on it atleast once in your lifetime.
We arrived at the train station and stood in line to enter the train car that had our train number and it was cold. Finally they let us on and we let the children decide where to sit.
They started out with elves helping us, along with cooks that brought us cookies and chocolate milk. Mrs Claus handed out her favorite cookie recipe, then they handed out a story book to each of us so that we could follow along as they read the polar express. After this they had us watch out the window for Santa claus and the north pole. We found him and he came inside the train and asked every child what they wanted for christmas and then gave them a little silver bell. After Santa, they handed out the words to music and we sang carols as we started back. After the carols, they said the time was ours to sing a solo or tell a joke or whatever. We didn't have a shy crowd. Lots of people went up. Lincoln went up and sang of course, Jeramiah was a Bull frog - he did great until he got to the chorus and realized that everyone was listening and buckled. They cheered him on anyway. The entertainment went on and on. There was never a time for the children to be bored. I think when they finally got back to the truck, they ended up falling to sleep within 5 minutes. It was very fun and I am so glad that we were lucky enough to be given tickets. By the way, it's hard to take pictures in the dark and in cramped corners so hopefully some of them turned out so that we can share our fun day with you.
