Mothers day gifts

I thought it would be really fun to do a little craft for all the mothers in our family. They aren't perfect but they were fun to make.

Mothers Day

I had a great mothers day this year because for some reason it was stretched into mothers week.
Tuesday my family took me to dinner and Lincoln told everyone that it was my choice because it's mothers day. Ixtapa was really good, I would suggest it to anyone who likes real mexican food.
Thursday, I got to go to Moms and muffins with Brinley at preschool. She colored on a placemat for me and served me a mini muffin and some (strange) red punch. She also had a cup with a marigold plant in it for me.
Friday, Lincoln brought home my mothers day gift from school which was in a brown bag decorated so nice and inside was a Mom keychain that he colored and some bath salts that had quite the aroma. There was a folded up paper inside with mothers day coupons and yes, I have already used one. Click on the above picture to read the coupons, they are pretty funny. He also created a card for me and he put fancy scrunched up papers in the bottom of the bag. Very cute! Oh yes, he also gave me his homework for mothers day.
Saturday we had Dougs family over for a mothers day dinner and it was great to spend time with them.
Sunday, Lincoln got up and made me breakfast in bed with the help from his dad. I got a slim-fast (which is a full breakfast in itself) and two slices of toast with jam and a half bowl of granola cereal. He made it all the way up the stairs without spilling it. Yay!! The family gave me a card and it had a portion to cut out and hang on the door so Lincoln took care of setting that up for me. I think I like the door hanger best. Then he took my tray and went downstairs with dad and they did the dishes. How is that? At church I received many more mothers day gifts from the kids and also a cute plant to put out in the yard. Like I said, this mothers day lasted all week. It was great! My gift from my family is actually a fitness watch that I have been wanting for over a year, I need to go pick it out of course and I am so excited. Sunday afternoon we went to my brother Shaynes house for dinner and had grilled chicken that was wonderful. Thanks to all for making my *week* so special.

Friday Night Fun

We got to go out as a family this last weekend and boy was it fun. We went to the Gateway and had ice cream from, of course, Ben and Jerry's. Then we let the kids play in the water fountains and of course they promised not to get wet.
Finally, we went and saw Under the Sea at the Imax theatre. It was in 3D and it was so funny to watch Brinley trying to catch the fish. She did end up taking the glasses off half way through because the big fish scared her.
After the movie, we walked around and checked out all the neat stuff in the planetarium. These are a couple pictures of Lincoln and Brinley on the moon and Mars.

They also have a fake channel 2 weather background set up for the kids to use and the kids got a kick out of seeing themselves on TV. Doug enjoyed watching himself also, however, I wasn't quick enough with the camera.

Thanks for the great idea Jen, Jan and Fam.

It's a warm day in Utah!

Little birds nest we found out in front of the DI.
I had to take a picture, it's about 9-10 feet up in the tree.
Today was such a nice day and so needed. We have been waiting for the nice weather and now it has arrived. I sat out back for quite a while watching all the different birds, which is a new hobby for me. It's amazing to see how many different kinds there are. We have about 5 nests in our trees, finches, robins, morning doves and I don't know the others but it sure is great!
The above picture is of a Robins nest that is in our cedar tree. Katrina took that picture on Easter day. The eggs are beautiful.

Girls, Girls, Girls

I loved playing with dolls when I was young and now-not so much. Luckily, some cute cousins were able to save me for a day. I love that they are into the pink, princess, dollhouse and dress-up years. So fun!

A mothers Happiness

All I have to say is it's about time. Daily I listen to Lincoln tell me how he wants to move back to our old house because he has no friends. It breaks your heart to hear that you have done something that has hurt your child. Well, with MUCH convincing Lincoln has invited some friends over for a light-saber attack and we are now to the point that we have the Star Wars friends Woo-hoo!
